Do You Live in A House with Geopathic Stress?

Monday May 20, 2013

To answer this question, you will first have to know what is a house with geopathic stress, right? Can a house really be stressed?

Yes, it sure can. Just like you get stressed out for a number of reasons, the same happens with the house. It is much more subtle, but it is there.

The bad news is that living in a house with geopathic stress creates a lot of stress (for you). It can also weaken your immune system.

So, what is a house with geopathic stress? And, more importantly, how do you know if your house has geopathic stress?

Geopathic stress is a relatively new term that covers the relationship between earth energies and people's well-being.

"Geo" obviously means "Earth" (or "Land"). The term "Pathic" is a very interesting one. It indicates both a disease, as well as a cure for disease. It also indicates the ability to feel, perceive or be ... Read more

The Lucky or Unlucky Front Door + Intelligent Feng Shui

Friday May 17, 2013
feng shui lucky directions tips

The feng shui info on lucky and unlucky directions has become quite a distraction for many people. At least it feels this way to me from going over readers' emails and questions at the feng shui forum.

I guess the feng shui directions info is perceived like an easy way out - face your lucky feng shui directions and everything else will be taken care of - money, relationships, success.

And, by the same token, if you (or your house) happen to face an unlucky feng shui direction, then all the disasters out there are lining up to get you. Does this not feel naive, to say the least?

The feng shui info on lucky and unlucky directions is good to know and follow, whenever possible. What is even better, though, is to understand that feng shui is very complex and it works on many levels, many of them unseen. An intelligent application of feng shui knowledge is what brings the best results.

So, if you read somewhere on-line that five ghosts are out to get you because your front door is facing an unlucky feng shui direction, slow down, take a deep breath and look around your home.

Is there anything that really needs to be taken care of before you dive into worrying about something like that? I am sure there is.

There is rarely a home out there that will not benefit from some good feng shui TLC. Even a home with a front door that faces an unlucky feng shui direction. You have to know the ... Read more

Find Your Feng Shui Star - Understand Your Personality

Thursday May 16, 2013
feng shui tips

If you are ready to find out more about yourself (and your loved ones) thru the eyes of feng shui astrology - also called 9 Star Ki Astrology - we have all the basic info ready for you.

Your first step is to find your 9 Star Ki Number. As you can easily guess, there are 9 numbers, or stars, in the 9 Star Ki Astrology, kind of like the 12 astrological signs in the traditional astrology.

For those who want to explore this deeper, it might be helpful to know that the 9 star ki is based on the mystical Lo Shu Square, the basis of which is used to define the feng shui energy map, or bagua of a home or office.

There is a specific progression, or flow to all 9 numbers, as well as a specific area that houses the energy of each number. To make it easy, we have a simple chart to help you find your star, along with clear energy descriptions for each of the 9 Star personalities.

So, which feng shui star describes you the best? How about your life partner or your child?

Let's start with the first step, which is really easy, to ... Read more

Are Beams Really Bad Feng Shui?

Tuesday May 14, 2013
feng shui of beams above the bed

Beams, especially beams above the bed, are considered bad feng shui. Now, let me be very clear that beams in themselves are not bad feng shui, I have seen many beautiful houses with beams that only emphasized and strengthened the energy of the home.

So, it is not about beams per se, but more about their location in the house. Beams above the bed are always best avoided (just another way of saying beams above the bed are bad feng shui).

What do you do, though, if you have beams above the bed and you cannot move the bed? Would you place wind chimes and bamboo flutes as a feng shui cure? Do these feng shui cures really work to neutralize the energy of a beam above the bed?

The only thing you want above your bed when you ... Read more

Feng Shui, Sacred Energy and Mantras - the OM in Your hOMe

Sunday May 12, 2013
feng shui tips

I have been taking the 21 day mantra meditation journey with Deva Premal and Miten, two musicians whose work I much admire. (Their meditation journey offering is free and I believe it is still available for you to sign up, even though it started 3 weeks ago.)

Each day Deva and Miten shared a new mantra, explored its energy and meaning and, of course, we also experienced the sound of these healing mantras. I loved discovering new mantras, as well as re-discovering the ones I knew before; the incredibly beautiful, nectar-filled voice of Deva Premal and Miten's wise presence made it all a sacred, meaningful experience.

One of their recommendations is to choose a mantra - an ancient sound formula - that resonates with you the most and explore it for the next 21 days. I loved them all and was ready to dedicate 21 days to every mantra I listened to! Still, my goal was to focus on one mantra and I was waiting to find out which one it will be.

Today I know it is the White Tara mantra - so very beautiful! - that carries the energy I feel strongly connected to. I love this mantra chanted by Deva Premal with the Gyuto Monks of Tibet; it has a truly sacred, powerful energy to it.

This journey also made me think of writing more about the BTB school of feng shui, a widely misunderstood and stereotyped feng shui school that has so much to offer. BTB, or the Black Sect Tibetan Tantric Buddhist school of feng shui is actually the school that I started with many years ago.

What attracted me to BTB feng shui was the spiritual aspect of most feng shui cures - the more sophisticated, mystical, subtle application of colours, sounds, images and specific rituals. So, in a couple weeks we will start the exploration of most interesting BTB feng shui cures - from secret cures to sell a home to the mystical ones to bless a house.

I will explain the BTB feng shui cures in a way that does not conflict with the classical, or traditional feng shui schools, but rather complements them. If you have questions about BTB feng shui or are interested in the application of specific BTB cures, feel free to leave a comment here and I will address your concerns in the upcoming articles.

Till then, I hope you are enjoying a most wonderful Sunday!

Do You Have an Altar in Your Home?

Friday May 10, 2013
feng shui tips
Even though having a home altar is not a tradition in most Western countries, more and more people are creating small altars in their home. The growing popularity of yoga and meditation introduced numerous people to stunningly beautiful Eastern altars - altars that express the deep human longing for - and adoration of - the Divine energies.

In the classical feng shui tradition, each home, as well as business, has an altar of its own, as I am sure you have seen in many Chinese businesses, such as restaurants or gift shops.

What makes a good altar and how can you create an altar for good feng shui in your home? Are you limited to specific statues, colours or materials? Are there strict guidelines?

Let's start with the essence of an altar - to honour Divine energies, express gratitude, give offerings and ask for blessings and protection.

When you think of ... Read more

Use Feng Shui To Open Up A Blocking Wall (@ Home or @Office)

Thursday May 9, 2013
feng shui tips

In feng shui, the right location of walls can promote a good flow of energy and enhance the positive feelings in a home or office. A challenging wall location will do the opposite - it can block, or completely stop the flow of energy, thus creating a stagnant space where not much good is happening.

Do you have blocking walls in your home or office? An example of a blocking wall in feng shui is a wall that you face as soon as you enter the home, or a wall you are facing while working at your desk.

Basically, these walls not only block the flow of energy in your space, they also block the flow and expansion of your own energy. Not good!

Be sure you understand all the types of blocking walls and, if you have any in your home or office, use feng shui to open them up.

There are several walls that can create potential feng shui challenges in your home and in your office. We will look at them one by one.

As with most walls, you would most probably want to ... Read more

Feng Shui Tips To Help Attract What You Need (or Want)

Wednesday May 8, 2013
feng shui tips
If you are looking to attract specific energy in your life, you have to be very clear in stating what you want, and then decide which feng shui area of your home can best attract this energy.

However, you have to know that first there has to be good feng shui energy in your whole house, not just in the one specific feng shui bagua area that is related to your request.

If you focus all your efforts in just one feng shui bagua area, you might get no results, so be mindful about creating a strong feng shui foundation in your house, and only then strengthen specific bagua areas for specific results.

Here are the feng shui bagua areas as related to specific goals:

Love & Marriage Related. Focus on the Southwest bagua area of your house, and use ... Read more
