Feng Shui: What is Your Relationship with the Earth?
I went today to an expo focused on sustainable living; my daughter came with me. Even though she is still very young, we talk a lot about respecting and taking care of the environment, effects of global warming, and more.
The expo disappointed me tremendously, the space was depressing and there was no joy or fun to be there.
The lighting was very poor, probably to prove the point about saving energy (even though there are so many intelligent ways to bring good quality lighting to the indoor environment and save the energy at the same time); the air was stiff and the colors were so drab. There were very few natural, living things inside, although later I noticed several little plants tucked in a faraway corner.
It made me question what will it take to finally honestly direct all our joy, love and care to the well-being of our planet and our children's children? Does taking care of our environment have to be looked upon as dreadful, boring and too complex or inconvenient of an obligation? The energy of beauty and joy is the energy of truth, and if you have these qualities in your surroundings, you are well on your way to good feng shui. For your own sake and for the sake of the planet.
