Five Feng Shui Elements: Example of a Nourish/Exhaust Relationship

feng shui five elements The theory of five feng shui elements might be hard to grasp right away. However, if you spend some time with it and try to understand how the five feng shui elements work and how to use the elements for better feng shui in your home, you've got yourself a powerful feng shui tool!

Best way to go is to visualize, or imagine the five feng shui elements as they exist in nature, and see how they interact. See wood for an actual tree, water as a river or rain, earth as soil, etc. For example, how does wood interact with fire? Well, it is obvious, fire burns the wood, so you know to avoid a fire element in a feng shui area of the bagua that needs the Wood element (East, for example.)

Does this mean, though, that it is best to completely avoid a feng shui element that is too strong for a specific area?
