Are You Confused about the Western Bagua Application?
Thursday September 11, 2008
As you know, one of the biggest confusions in feng shui is the application of the Bagua map. There are two distinct ways to apply the Bagua, and it is up to you to decide which feng shui school to apply. The traditional feng shui school uses the compass reading to define the Bagua, and the BTB and Western Schools of feng shui do not use the compass.
Now, you might ask - which feng shui school bagua is better? Both are good. Which one is right? Both are right. Practitioners from both feng shui schools achieve great results with their clients.
This is one of the mysteries of feng shui - it is a powerful energy tool, and often it is up to you to decide on the rules you will accept. Now, if you decide to use the Western feng shui school Bagua, do you know how to apply it?

Please help!
I’m trying to apply some flying star cures to my home for the year 2009, but I’m a little (or alot) confused. I practice BTB and I’m not sure how to apply the grid over my house & direction. My house is facing E and sitting at W. Thank’s for any advice.
Hi Enizete:
It is not really possible to apply the flying star school updates with the BTB Bagua, as the BTB school does not use the compass directions.
Cheers,
Fascinating information. I have a home office (my living room) with the flow of energy coming in from the south. My north wall is a large window with a view of the entire city. Naturally, I want my desk facing this amazing view; but that also leaves me with my back to the door. The west side has a large opening (no wall), which leads in to the dining room. So my only choice would be to move my desk so my back is against a wall and I face West; but again, facing west is not good for creativity, nor for success. Hmm…
I never know what direction I’m facing. I guess I had best get a compass!
Too many mountains and canyons out here. I’ve never thought about it.
