Feng Shui for the White House?
Tuesday January 20, 2009
Should Obamas apply feng shui to the White House? I have read several articles recently suggesting that the President should apply feng shui in the White House, as well as explaining how he should apply it.
Well, first, in my opinion, should is a very strange word. I have learned to use it very sparingly, if at all. Second, both Barack and Michelle Obama are outstanding and deeply inspiring personalities truly aligned with a higher connection, so I know they will make the best choices.
There are many ways to refresh and clean the energy (feng shui) of the space, and the best ones are done in a subtle way. It is not about giving more publicity to feng shui (most high profile clients, unless they are in the entertainment or real estate industries, will not go for it openly; feng shui has quite a bit of stigma attached to it.) It is not about feng shui. It is about applying practical tips from an ancient body of knowledge that works, be it acupuncture, feng shui, yoga or astrology. You do not have to smudge or place fish tanks everywhere, but it is wise to refresh as much as possible when you move into a building with a long history.
Having said that, do I think the Oval Office has good feng shui? Well, three windows behind your desk are never ideal, but President Obama has a very strong energy field and might not be influenced by this configuration. The stronger your personal energy field, the less you are influenced by your surroundings. However, living and working in a balanced environment strengthens and protects your energy field, so it is wise to pay attention to your space.
I was in awe witnessing the huge energy change while watching the inauguration ceremony. It was literally out with the old, in with the new. Just like millions of people around the world, I sent my prayers of protection for the new president and his family and felt enormous gratitude to live in such powerful times.
By the way, Michelle Obama made a great color choice for the ceremony - all shades of yellow are excellent for 2009, the year of the earth element energy. So did Jill Biden - red, as the fire element color, is supporting the earth of 2009. How is that for a good feng shui start?
