To say that we live in powerful times might be an understatement. This certainly depends on how one perceives power. When you have a strong connection to your internal source of power (true self-sufficiency!), the quality of your life is very different from those times when you let the outside world decide for you.
Most of us go back and forth between these two states until we learn to be very mindful of various forms of energy and frankly, just stick to the discipline of choosing the energy that feels the best. This includes choosing good and uplifting thoughts, good feelings, good friends and activities, good Chi environments, etc.
It is also helpful to be aware of the overall planetary activity (check our astrology blog), as this will allow you to better understand, as well as accept the unfolding of recent events in your life (be it inner or outer events.)
Feng shui comes into place as a huge ally to help heal, strengthen and nourish the parts of you that need to emerge during these times. No, I do not mean the fearful 2012 scenarios and predictions. I mean the ability to use feng shui to stay balanced, clear and happy (yes, make the effort to be happy!) with the current intensity of energy.
Is your life becoming too hectic, out of control and fearful? Then bring peace into your home with images of divine help, inner serenity and power.
From the deeply compassionate energy of Kwan Yin to the healing energy of the Medicine Buddha, choose what image speaks to you the most. Or, maybe you need the playfulness of the Laughing Buddha or a strong ally in removing all obstacles (Ganesh)?
If you find yourself on the other end of the spectrum - with the energy being very slow, low and almost apathetic - then bring a vibrant shot of yang energy with bright colours, energetic music, active essential oils such as rosemary, lemongrass or mint, etc.
Find images that speak to you of breaking free or flying, use the feng shui symbology of birds, butterflies or horses to attract and strengthen the energy you need the most.
And, or course, as one of the main motives of our times seems to be learning to let go and live in constant change, do work on clearing your clutter. It will do you enormous good and release you from many fears and plenty of other negative emotions stuck in all those items you no longer need, use or love.
