Feng Shui Chart: Chinese Zodiac Signs and Month of the Year

Additional chart to calculate best times for specific activities

Feng shui wisdom can help you in more ways than it is traditionally known. Yes, the main application of feng shui in in creating harmonious spaces - both at home and at work. A lesser known application of feng shui is the one of choosing auspicious, or best dates for specific activities, such as starting a long journey, a job or a wedding, for example. Feng shui calculations can also be employed in finding the best matches for a successful long term personal or professional relationship.

You might ask how is that possible - to use the same knowledge to feng shui a house and find the best mate? The answer is in the complexity of this ancient art and science, and more specifically in its numerous schools and branches.

If you want to choose the most auspicious day for your wedding, for example, or to start a important project, you can look into the Ba Zi, or Four Pillars of Destiny School, as well as the school of Feng Shui Astrology (also called 9 Star Ki).

Most of the calculations in these two schools of thought are based on one's date of birth (the zodiac sign and the birth feng shui element). Of course, it is always best to consult a professional feng shui astrologer or consultant who will quickly give you the answer you are looking for.

However, it is also quite empowering to do the calculations yourself, and there are several charts with info that you will need for your calculations.

In ancient feng shui cosmology, not only each year has a zodiac sign that expresses its energy. It goes deeper than that. Each hour of the day, as well as each month of the year have the same expression / go through the same process.

So, you have a Chinese zodiac sign based on your birth data, then each hour, day and month have their own expression of the same energy.

Based on this data, the most auspicious combination can be found for a specific project that you much care for.

Here are the resources you need:

Your Zodiac Sign and Birth Element (most people know this info)

Once you have all this info ready, you can do some basic feng shui calculations (I use the word "basic" because the core feng shui knowledge of both schools take years of study and mastery).

If this sounds too complicated, you can always consult our daily feng shui blog where we present the monthly feng shui almanac info; usually at the very beginning of the month.

Here is the chart of months corresponding to each of the 12 Zodiac signs.
