"Bagua" literally means 8 areas, because ancient people defined 8 areas that are very important for your health and well-being. In your house, each area is connected to a specific area of your life; and by changing your house, by changing specific areas of your house; you can literally change your life.

Tools Needed to Define Bagua

You will need:
  • a full circle protractor
  • a ruler
  • your floor plan
  • a pen
Find the House's Center

The first step in defining the bagua of your home is to find the center. Next you align the protractor with a compass reading of the main door (let's assume the compass readind of 352.5)

Measure the Bagua Points

We know that 352.5 is a North facing house, because North feng shui area of the Bagua is from 337.5 to 22.5. So by marking these readings on the floor plan you define the North bagua area of the floor plan.

Next proceed to defining all the Bagua areas according to the corresponding compass directions:

Northeast (22.5 to 67.5)
East (67.5 to 112.5)
Southeast (112.5 to 157.5)
South (157.5 to 202.5)
Southwest (202.5 to 247.5)
West (247.5 to 292.5)
Northwest (292.5 to 337.5)

Connect the Energy Map Lines

When you take the protractor away, all you need to do is connect the lines (direction markings) through the center and you will see how easily we defined the bagua, or the energy map of a home.
