north wall of the bedroom

Would metallic color on the north wall of the N-NW bedroom (behind the beds headboard) be appropriate or would that be an overkill for a bedroom?

Practical view

In response to: "what do plants do at night? They release carbon dioxide into the air. " Ummm?? I'm kind of confused. When did plants change from Oxygen producing to CO2 producing? And on a related note, how are we all alive?? (fyi plants give off oxygen all day er' day ...pretty much always have, assumed that they always will)

Sleeping under the window

I just rearranged our room and our bed is now under the window, but the headboard is very large and solid pine. I just LOVE it, because it gives the room a lot more space. However, it practically covers up the window. I've been thinking of trying to get rid of the headboard and somehow make the window the headboard, but I guess I can see how that could be bad after reading this. Since we want it dark in the bedroom anyway and use the bedroom only when it is dark.... I don't care that the window is mostly blocked off. Feng Shui seems too complicated. I don't even know where to start. But, my bedroom seriously needs some help. I think it comes down to having too big of furniture for an average sized bedroom.

Bedroom colors

I have been following Feng Shui for 3 yrs now. My bedroom faces North, Northeast and recently I had the urge to paint it gray and put up black and white pics of me and my husband. I didnt even know that these were the right colors for my bedroom ( FS instinct I guess). :-)

Where your bed faces...

I didn't know about how facing the door can help, but now it's made a few things more understandable. When I face the door before I go to sleep, I have a much better nights sleep - but when I'm facing the other way, I have nightmares. Well, actually the same nightmare of a women biting my shoulder and I wake up screaming and crying. But since sleeping facing the door, I haven't had any nightmares since :) The tips on under the bed and keeping the window open also sounds pretty interesting :)

Feng Shui Veteran

I have been following feng shui for about 15 years. As such, when I first started, everything in my house was "not" feng shui (I won't use the word "bad"). Whenever I considered changing anything, I always checked to make sure it was "good" feng shui (or at least, not bad). Now, after years of reading and making little changes, as I read the article I look around my bedroom to find that I am conforming almost 100% to the tips. My tv, which I never watch, is hidden behind a curtain in the closet, the bed affords me a view of the door, but not in "coffin" position, (which is one of the first tips I learned), and the colors are appropriate. I also have fresh cut flowers in my room as often as possible, as well as a screen that partially blocks the door, to keep the positive energy from flowing out. I sleep very restfully (I didn't when I started 15 years ago), and I love my bedroom!

Mirror Doesn't Matter to Us

Our mirror Is attached to the dresser on my husbands side of the bed. We have been married for 23 years now & are happier today than we were when we first got married & the mirror wasn't facing any side of the bed then. But this probably has to do with the fact that we aren't living below his parents anymore & he has a MUCH better job now. Sometimes I think If you BELIEVE something to be bad, It becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.

Placing Bed in Feng Shui Room

I would like to know if there is anything 'bad' about putting your bed between two windows, if it's the only place in the room that is not in line with the door....Otherwise, the two other options are straight on with the bedroom door, or feet facing the closet....both 'no-no's'' Please advise!

my bedroom

My bedroom is about 7.75 x 14 ft. The door is in the middle of the main wall. What do I do with the bump out from another rooms closet and the miniature closet on the bump out wall? Our house was built in 1896 and all the upstairs bedrooms have slanted ceilings on at least one side of the room. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

All your feng shui bedroom tips

I am very grateful for all your feng shui bedroom tips because I used them all to re-decorate my bedroom. I did not know about skin colors, and I had no idea about how to position my bed, but now I do. Thank you!

the new bed

Your info helped me understand what it means to have a good feng shui bed and I made the best choice for our bedroom. We both love our new bed and the whole bedroom feels cozier and sexier; no comparison to what we had before, thank you.
